Someone's Houston

People hesitate to move to Houston.

About the project

People hesitate to move to Houston. They've heard about the floods. They've heard about crime. And the answer they get is a glossy city guide that mentions neither. So the candidate Googles it at midnight, finds the worst version, and says no.

We know Houston is awesome. You just need to find the part of it that fits you.

Someone's Houston turns a candidate conversation into a personal relocation report for recruiters and relocation specialists. We compare Houston's 88 Super Neighborhoods across eight priorities, including affordability, commute, flood context and healthcare. Change the priorities and the ranking changes, with the tradeoffs behind every recommendation in plain view.

AI organizes the candidate's notes and explains the results. The scores come from one transparent calculation over validated public data from the City of Houston, FEMA and the Census. Where exact measurements are missing, we disclose conservative estimates and their sources.

Once a neighborhood is chosen, a weekly search surfaces new home listings there.

Corporate relocation is a $13.5 billion market in the US, growing 6 to 7 percent a year, and it still sells cities with a brochure. We answer the hard questions first, and make H-Town easier to say yes to.
