Google Maps stops at the plant gate. Inside a refinery, finding a valve still means plot plans, tribal knowledge, and an escort. Contract inspectors run about $100/hr loaded; leak-detection crews will tell you roughly 70% of the shift is locating the tag, not testing it. That is billed idle time and extra hours of people in a live unit. TakeMeTo turns a laser scan they already paid for into directions to the asset. On the desktop you pick work on a real NavVis point cloud, get a walking route from the south gate (roads from occupancy, real stairs, walk-around for hot work), and scan a QR. The phone shows the plot, the 360, a 3D crop, and check-off, no extra API call, so it still works when the network dies. The buyer is not the tech with the phone. It is the inspection superintendent burning escort hours, and the operator who pays for every person-hour in the unit. Wedge: one scanned unit, one painful list, QR to the contractor the next morning. Less hunt, more wrench, less time in the field.
